Admissions

Admissions to Danehill School are formally managed by East Sussex, both for Reception and In-Year admissions (In-Year covers any entry that isn’t to Reception in September, including mid-year and the start of a school year in any other year). The East Sussex admissions website is here

We welcome conversations with and visits from prospective parents throughout the school year, and typically hold three open days in the Autumn term (subject to Covid-19 restrictions). Please do contact us to arrange a conversation, tour, or a taster day.

September entry into Reception is organised annually by East Sussex, with applications by Mid-January, and decisions usually notified by mid-April – details of the specific deadlines for this year, the process, and criteria can be found on their website here.

Admission to the school at any other time is by application to East Sussex – details of this In-Year process can be found on their website here, with official decisions normally within 10 working days of application.

To find out more about how we approach learning, please read the ‘Your Child’s Learning’ section of this website, and do get in touch if you have any questions.

We are pleased that our approach to learning also produces strong results against the national criteria – our OFSTED report can be read here, and our performance statistics here. Please note that as we only have a maximum of 15 children per year, not all data is collected, and additionally that due to Covid-19 the most recent published data is for 2018/19.
