Life in Foxes Class

Foxes is a fun and happy place to be. As the children near the end of KS1 the academic demands begin to increase but always with the key enlivened principles at the forefront of our minds. Whilst I know the objectives we must cover in any given term, how they are covered really is shaped by the children. A prime example of this was the redevelopment of our garden area. The children had learnt about the decline of bees and butterflies in British gardens through a classmate and decided they would like to attract them to our garden. They created fundraising teams, writing to local garden centres and parents for help, and decided to run a whole school pizza sale to raise money. All of our Science, Maths, English and Art was done through this central topic.

Meet the Class Teacher:

I am Ellie Farmer and I was born in rural Sussex so it seems fitting I now work in a school in rural Sussex. I did my degree in Business Management in London and then spent a few years working in Guernsey running advertising campaigns for Specsavers. Ten years ago, when I moved back to Sussex, I began volunteering as a TA in a local school. I knew instantly that I wanted to retrain and become a teacher. I first experienced working at Danehill during my training year and when a vacancy became available I knew I had to apply. This is my 3 year teaching Foxes class.

I am Meghan Upton and I am the new part-time teacher of Foxes. I also teach part-time in Hedgehogs class.

Meet the Teaching Assistants:

In Foxes class, we have two fantastic teaching assistants: Sharon Bubb and Pedro Carreira who teaches PE.

I am Sharon Bubb, and all three of my (now fully grown) children went to Danehill School. I started volunteering as a mum, listening to children read and was then offered a job as a TA. I’ve worked in most of the classes over the last 25 years and am currently in Foxes. I love working with the children, every day is unpredictable but highly rewarding.

I am Pedro Carreira and I am a TA who also teaches the class PE. I also run all the very popular After-School Clubs, for more information, click on this After-School Clubs link.
