Admissions

Admissions to Danehill School are formally managed by East Sussex County Council (ESCC). This is the case for both for Reception and In-Year admissions (In-Year covers any entry that isn’t to Reception in September, including mid-year and the start of a school year in any other year). See East Sussex School Admissions for more information.

We welcome conversations with and visits from prospective parents throughout the school year, and typically hold three open days in the Autumn term (subject to Covid-19 restrictions). You are also welcome to contact us to arrange a conversation, tour, or a taster day.

September entry into Reception is organised annually by East Sussex, with applications by mid-January, with parents/carers usually being notified of decisions by mid-April. To see more details of the specific deadlines for this year, together with further details of the process, and its criteria, see ESCC Primary School Admissions.

Admission to the school at any other time is by application to ESCC. For more information on the 'in-year' application process, see ESCC In-Year Applications. Official decisions are normally made within 10 working days of the submission of your application.

To find out more about how we approach learning, please read the Your Child’s Learning section of this website, and do get in touch if you have any questions.

We are pleased that our approach to learning also produces strong results against the national criteria. For more information, read our last OFSTED report, and our Performance Statistics report. Please note that as we only have a maximum of 15 children per year, not all data is collected, and additionally that due to Covid-19 the most recent published data is for 2018/19.
